A-Class Catamaran Championships 2025

See the waterfront at Milford Beach come alive as the world’s best in the A-Class Catamaran fleet gather at the Milford Cruising Club for the 2025 World Championships.
From Saturday 8th November to Sunday 16th November, you can head down to the water’s edge, watch hydro‑foiling catamarans, and enjoy great food & drinks at the club’s restaurant while taking in the action.
The A-Class Catamarans are not everyday sight‑boats. They’re single‑handed multihulls that often fly above the water’s surface – and with more than 70 crews expected from around the globe, the scale and level of competition will be exceptional.
Whether you’re a sailing fan or simply looking for a scenic outing, make your way down to Milford Beach, stroll through the Centre, and soak up the atmosphere. Bring the family, grab your favourite spot with a view of the water and be part of something special.
See It Up Close at Milford Centre
Before (or after!) heading down to the waterfront, make sure to stop by the Centre Court and see one of these incredible A-Class catamarans up close. This full-sized boat gives you the rare opportunity to appreciate the craftsmanship, design and innovation that make these racing machines so extraordinary.
While you’re here, explore the Heritage Display – an interactive exhibition that walks you through the evolution of the A-Class Catamaran. Learn about its origins in the 1950s, the progression from timber hulls to cutting-edge carbon fibre foilers, and how the class became known as the “Formula One of sailing.”
It’s a fascinating look at both the sport’s rich history and the technology that drives it forward – perfect for families, sailing fans, and anyone curious about what makes these boats fly.
