Who is FLOX?
Hayley King, professionally known as FLOX, is one of New Zealand’s most celebrated contemporary artists. With a distinctive style that combines spray paint and hand-cut stencils, her work brings Aotearoa’s native flora and fauna to life in vibrant, layered compositions.
Emerging from Auckland’s street art scene in the early 2000s, FLOX has evolved her practice over two decades to encompass murals, fine art, and premium product lines, all while maintaining a deep connection to Aotearoa’s natural beauty and cultural heritage. Her commitment to sustainability and craftsmanship is evident in her meticulously hand-cut stencils and thoughtfully designed collections, which pay homage to the Arts and Crafts movement.
As FLOX celebrates 20 years of artistic innovation in 2025, her work continues to resonate both locally and internationally, solidifying her status as one of New Zealand’s most iconic contemporary artists.
